Alex is a freelance DOP, camera and Steadicam operator based in New Zealand.

Having trained in the UK as a staff cameraman for Yorkshire Television he now has over 10 years freelance experience working with, and for the best in the industry. Alex is familiar with all video formats through DV to HD and XD to P2. His clients include Natural History NZ, Mountain Film Unit, CBS, Columbia Tristar, Gibson Group and South Pacific Pictures.

Specialising in world-class documentaries, his work is broadcast regularly on the Discovery and National Geographic channels. In addition he is an experienced Steadicam and ‘A’ camera operator whose TV drama credits include ‘The Strip’ and the Emmy nominated ‘Being Eve’.

Alex has a passion for adventure, and is experienced in a variety of extreme outdoor sports. These skills enable him to work safely to capture dynamic and beautiful images in the most spectacular of locations.
