I'm a freelance DOP, drone, camera and Steadicam operator based in New Zealand.

 

I began my career in 1996 as a staff cameraman for UK's Yorkshire TV,  where I cut my teeth on news and international documentaries. In 1998 I emigrated to NZ and soon began a 25 year working relationship with NHNZ, an international production company making ground-breaking factual TV for the biggest global broadcasters. I am proud to have shot over 30 different productions for NHNZ in various parts of the world. Other international clients include; Pioneer Productions, Northern Pictures, Windfall Films, BriteSpark Films, CBS, Sony Tristar, Gibson Group, South Pacific Pictures and Beach House Pictures. 

 

Steadicam and drama operating were mainstays of my earlier career. More recently I have transferred these skills to my love for documentary and wildlife cinematography, joint passions that have given me experiences and challenges beyond even my craziest dreams. 

 

As an ex extreme sports junkie I can safely capture compelling images in spectacular locations. But I’m driven mostly by the story telling, the power of film and TV to move people, raise awareness, promote initiatives and create change.
